Patients Failing To Attend Appointments

In July, a total of 401 patients did not attend appointments that they had booked.

In total, this equals the practice employing a GP for over a week with no appointments.

Patients who fail to attend appointments are depriving others who could have used this appointment. The practice will now review all patients who fail to attend any appointments, and will place them into monitored groups as a result.

Anyone who fails to attend on more than three occasions will be reviewed and likely removed from the practice list.

If you wish to cancel an appointment, please call reception on 01908 221180, or click here.

Out of Hours

The normal Out of Hours service will be available during surgery closure - NHS 111 for advice 24 hours a day.

Call NHS 111 before going to A&E as you may be offered an emergency appointment in the community and therefore be seen faster.

NHS Friends and Family Test

The Friends and Family Test is a national program used to gain patient feedback of the service you receive at your GP surgery.

It is important to us at Oakridge Park Medical Centre that we know what you think of the surgery and what improvements we can make. Please take a few moments to complete the survey by looking under the 'have your say' heading, or by clicking here.

Text Messages

We are now able to text our patients, so please ensure that your details are up to date. We can then use this to confirm appointments, send reminders and inform you of services relevant to you.

If you do not wish to be contacted by text, please let us know and we can update our records.

Online Services

Our new online service has started. To use the system, click on the tab at the top of the page. To find out more and download the application form, click here.

Please note:

If you have medication that is not on repeat, you will need to complete a form in the surgery and request it. If you cannot order your medication online - you will need to visit the surgery.

If you require the surgery to contact you, you will need to call 01908 221180 as we cannot always contact you due to demands on the service.

Patient Participation Group

If you would like to join the PPG please email Bob Lark at or fill out a form here. Information is available under the 'Have your say' tab. If you would like to be involved but cannot attend the meetings, you can become a virtual member.
